Signal jammer for controlling EMI is a staple in modern electronics and plays an important role in military applications. Shielding requirements vary by design and environment, but typical military signal jammer effectiveness (SE) requirements for military designs are typically around 80 dB. Considering that 80 dB is a factor of 10,000, we see that very good shielding is required to meet the demand. The good news is that you can easily get there by following the basics carefully.
The choice of shielding material is of course a factor in the design, but in fact you have to do the openings and wire penetrations before the SE of the material comes into play. We rarely encounter situations where the SE of the material is not sufficient for high frequency shielding.
